Video Piracy Laws and What Needs to Change

“In general there needs to be more of a notion of co-responsibility,” she says. “Instead of just talking to ISPs and saying you should do this and you should do that, what piracy shows is that there is a full ecosystem at work here and there are many stakeholders involved. You have the rights holders, you have the social media platforms, you have the payment providers, you have the advertisers, and you have the apps, and you have the app stores. For piracy to work, they must all be involved. For piracy to be stopped, they must also all be involved.”
